Hey darlings! I’m back with another maternity review — so sorry for the delay! Things have been crazy-hectic in my life lately. I’m So busy with my blog, Belle de Couture, (which is great), but definitely hard to juggle everything when you’re about to pop and you have a toddler to run around after!! I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant and I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. I swear the second time around is so much quicker than the first. It’s probably because I’m so busy tending after my daughter, that the days are flying by much more quickly than before. We are SO excited for the birth of this baby! We’ve decided to wait until the baby is born to find out the sex, which is what we did with our daughter. We just think it makes it so much more exciting! It’s the BEST surprise!! Enough pregnancy update for y’all though, let me get right into these amazing jeans! I can’t tell y’all enough about how much I am loving these Paige Verdugo Full Panel Maternity Jean in Black Coating! They are the perfect jean for fall and winter and look so much like leather!If you’ve been following my reviews for awhile, or have read up on some of my past reviews, then you probably already know how much I love the Paige brand. I love that the denim is made in the U.S.A. and that every pair I own fits me to a “T”. Every pair I own, whether it is maternity or non-maternity, is not only comfortable, but hugs my curves in the most flattering way. The denim holds it’s shape throughout a day’s wear and my bum always looks pretty darn good in them — which is a total plus, le duh!I love coated denim because it can really amp up any look and looks so much like leather, without the hefty price tag. Plus, it’s a lot more comfortable than wearing leather OR even faux leather leggings. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great pair of faux leather leggings, and if I could afford the real deal I would be on board. BUT, one thing you don’t have to worry about with coated denim is sweating during wear. Coated denim breaths like all other denim and moves with you, so no constricting fabric or having to worry about a seam busting when you sit down or bend your knees.These jeans are comprised of 42% lyocell, 33% cotton, 15% rayon, 9% polyester, and 1% spandex. As I said above, this jean has GREAT STRETCH! They are a mid-rise, so they hit slightly above the hip bones. The front rise is 15 1/2″ and the inseam is 30″. I love a 30″ inseam. I find that to be the perfect inseam for me, and I’m 5’10.These jeans have a full panel belly band, which is fabric that covers your baby bump and holds your jeans up. I own a few other Paige denim styles that are maternity, but they have side stretch panels in the waistband, and not the full panel that covers the belly.
I really think there are pros and cons to both styles. The full panel maternity jeans really help to ensure that the jeans don’t sag during wear, which is a big deal (no one wants a saggy bum). However, throughout a day of wear I do find myself pulling the band down under my belly at times, for a more comfortable fit. Sometimes the full panel just feels a bit too snug on my baby bump. Has anyone else ever felt this way? Another con I find with a full panel is that it can sometimes show through my top, especially if the fabric is dark. This pair has a black panel, so unfortunately wearing light colored tops is difficult unless you opt to wear a camisole underneath (like I am in these photos). With the side panel maternity jeans I find that they are more comfortable, but that they tend to sag during wear. It doesn’t matter if it’s a skinny or boyfriend style, every pair I own with side panels in the waistband all end up sagging a bit, some more than others. It’s annoying to have to tug at the waistband to ensure your jeans are staying up.
